Presenting a profession Delivery of work!!!

Presenting work on a exhibition is important for interest to people to come to the exhibition.   And for guests to give good feedback on exhibitions.  I.e no matter how good the work is on any exhibition presentation helps make any exhibition exciting.

[1] Is my graphic design FMP exhibition at college.   Were I was made clear how a good presentation was important because if one persons is bad it can make the full exhibition look bad.  And for example annual exhibitions such as college or university exhibition is important to be professionally well presented to make people want to come again the next year cause if the exhibition looks boring or badly presented.  It mite decrease the attendance the next year.   And if the exhibition is excellently presented it makes people look forward to the next year exhibition.

[2] Is a not so well presented presentation which was for a module assessment of mine.  I set up a bad presentation of this work by last minute preperation.

• I would say this presentation is bad cause my journal is just layed on the table in separate bits.  
• My CD cause was a good design but could have been separated from my other stuff rather than placed at the edge of my tshirt.   
• The Tshirt layed out on the table could have presented better for example should have got a clothing rail and presented the tshirt like you would see it in a shop.
• The A2 poster stuck up on the wall with blue tack - maybe should have been mounted on to card or mount board and the other things stuck on the wall could of had the same 

Presenting to clients

When presenting to clients it important to try and sell your work by being well propered and things to be presented well.  And may the to go to the client not knowing what equipment maybe available such as a screen etc.  You need to be prepared for the unexpected and not go assuming there going to have the equipment you need.

Why the halloween party was unsucessful

Why the halloween party was cancelled?

The students Halloween party was unsuccessful after little interest from students.  12 tickets were sold for the event, which were later refunded after a whole week of little interest.

How interest could have been improved?

Myself and the team organising the Halloween party.  Should have made the party sound more exciting.

Ways it could have been made more exciting:-

• Putting things on such as a band, comedy, or maybe a drink deal where you pay to get in but you get the drinks free
• By not using the college canteen as the venue - using the colleges canteen for the venue probably sounded boring to students to have a night party, the venue choice could have been improved by opting for a venue what sounds more exciting.  For Example a Halloween party in a haunted abandoned pub or in a swimming pool.  May have made students for interested in attending.

Advertisement and Organisation

Advertisement and organisation had all been done approximately 2 weeks before the event date.   Which was probably after the time students had already made better plans for the night and were not interested in attending the party at college.  The party had all been organised the venue booked, door security staff and been booked.  Tickets and advertisement had been sorted.   Ticket sales started on the Monday lunch time approximately 2 weeks pre to the party and within 5 days only 12 students purchased tickets for the event.  Which made myself and the team decided to take the event to a cancellation.  

Conclusion 

Halloween night is one of the biggest student partying nights in the year.  Were there are loads of events and parties organised around town.  You are spoilt for choice on were to go on Halloween night so to make an event a success you have to advertise it and make try and have it sounding exciting to get people to change there plans for the night.  Which on the preparation for this Halloween party we just stuck with the most easy accessible facilities and venues rather than working harder to improve interest.  

The Pitch

For my 2 pieces of the pitch i picked the weacom.  Cause it is the top tool for drawing digitally it is much easier than having to use a mouse to draw digitally.

And my second piece is the mac computer due to it's storage capacity, top rated design software and reliable design software aswell.  And has the right colour setting as industry standard printers.

Free Comic book day 

If i can find an easy to get to comic shop i would like to attend this to get some free comics on the first weekend in may every year.  As well as get my hands on some free comics it would be good for networking with comic artists.

East London Comics and Art Festival (ELCAF)

On the 14th of june this year i am looking forward to the big day of going down to London to attend ELCAF.  Which is organised by Nobrow, i'm looking to this event aswell as it being a good day out looking in comics, talking to illustrators.  It would also be well educational on how to get about self publishing etc.  And look forward to watching and take part on some of the other events such as the tattooing on fake skin one etc.

The day can't come quick enough and think i best leave my debt card at home and just take cash as i think it could be a place i'd spend a fortune.

But CAN'T wait for this day

The Marvel Store

Marvel Store is a place i would like to visit on a trip to London.  I'd look forward too looking in the comics and getting my hands on proably some prints and some comics.  And also what impresses me about marvel is the range of things there do for each cartoon such as games, comics, toys

Gosh comics in london are one of todays regular comic shops which I loved the shop.  Good comic shop and there even regular have comic signings were if you love your comics you'd love gosh comics.  It's an amazing shop i can spend hours in there looking at comics.

Plagisum is were sombody in a way copies somebody elses work to confirm that it is there own work.  This plagisum could be done in any way of slightly changing it in away i.e putting it in there own words.  Or if it is art work changing the pattern or colours on it or the proportions.

Plagisum/Copyright is to give the artist, mustion, journallist the list goes on.  The protection over the fact that they own there work and there have the privilage of the money about it nobody else.

What can happen if you plagurise sombody else's work.....

If you plagurised sombody's work i.e if it's another artist and there have copyright protection on the work there own.  There can take you to court under the copyright act.

What has to be done to prevent fire hazards 

Employers (and/or building owners or occupiers) must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and keep it up to date. This shares the same approach as health and safety risk assessments and can be carried out either as part of an overall risk assessment or as a separate exercise.

Based on the findings of the assessment, employers need to ensure that adequate and appropriate fire safety measures are in place to minimise the risk of injury or loss of life in the event of a fire.

To help prevent fire in the workplace, your risk assessment should identify what could cause a fire to start, ie sources of ignition (heat or sparks) and substances that burn, and the people who may be at risk.

Once you have identified the risks, you can take appropriate action to control them. Consider whether you can avoid them altogether or, if this is not possible, how you can reduce the risks and manage them. Also consider how you will protect people if there is a fire.
Carry out a fire safety risk assessment
Keep sources of ignition and flammable substances apart
Avoid accidental fires, eg make sure heaters cannot be knocked over
Ensure good housekeeping at all times, eg avoid build-up of rubbish that could burn
Consider how to detect fires and how to warn people quickly if they start, eg installing smoke alarms and fire alarms or bells
Have the correct fire-fighting equipment for putting a fire out quickly
Keep fire exits and escape routes clearly marked and unobstructed at all times

The health and safety at work act says,  about hazards such as. Ive read the bit about wires having to be kept out of paths way and anything thats over a year old needs pack tested. Aswel as heavy boxes etc heavy things must be moved with a tolly or somthing and not by hand.

All staff must aswell no the fire regulation rules such ss each nearest exit. And essembly point.
